PRISON DRAMES.

I dreamt i was in prison. And from my dream to you - prison is terrible.

I got sent there because of something I did in 92-93, (I was about 4) apparently Toyota filed a suit against me and I was sent to prison in my current age of 21.

I brought my cellphone with limited battery life. and the guard was the student store lady - before we got tucked in she said "on behalf of 89.7 and me, i love you so much. put away your cellphone, the bills are expensive!" also this was limited security which means we got ten minutes of time in a hotel beds before we were sent to our prison cots.

WORRIES REALIZED IN PRISON: 1. Can't finish my film. 2. I wouldn't graduate with my class.

PROS REALIZED IN PRISON: 1. I would take up lucid dreaming. 2. Two years in prison means an endless amount of time writing something!

Octopus Concepts

Here's some stuff from over break. I got pissed off one day, so i went crazy on some concepts for this shapeshifting octopus in my film. This is just a starting point - I'd kill myself if i animated these.

Film Color Exploration

Last night I decided to figure out some colors for my film this year. Theres a bunch of routes I think I could've taken in terms of my palette, but ultimately I want to work with some more desaturated colors and see how that all works out.

So this started out for my film and then turned into what weird ass colors can I make work together. I noticed a lot of the images had similarities to weird 80's paintings - the kind you'd see in the old barber shops that never decided to remodel. Also, japanese style creeped in there too.

I'm not sure what direction I'm going to go in, but this is fun as hell. Question: does anyone have a job doing this ridiculous shit?

kris told me i should be drawing. I told him I've been relaxing and being lazy and actually coming up with story ideas. I'm doing a film about something in the deep sea. And so far I've come up with like 5-10 ideas. (I say 10 to make me feel better) Here's a dumbass idea that I wrote down and made into a comic. So fuck you kris and here's what you made me do.

Color Script

We're doing color scripts in Lisa Keene's class. Here are some different color ideas over the story of Hansel and Gretel. We could redo the story and place it in a different setting than the original - so I placed it in India.

I'm going thru a block, so I've been scrounging the internet for new stuff I haven't really checked out. I ran into some old school Japanese Graphic Design posters. A lot of their color choices are desaturated and are really out of the ordinary, but they somehow work. I wanted to mess around with that idea and spin a Japanese flair onto it. I wanna keep messing around with this desaturated palette...

48 Hour Films

This was Maanav's attempt at making the fastest film ever. I think, without technical complications and finding out the whole adobe suite cs5 sucks - I did this in about 3 to 4 hours. I did the animation in like 40 minutes. Also, I have no idea how I got the idea.


Yves Got the Invite



I scrapped my 48 hour film idea that I worked on Friday and Saturday and I did this. I liked the idea of doing super quick and shitty. I got inspired by alanthebox and The Cask of Amontillado, which I just found out was a Poe short story. I think I read it in my sophomore year of high school and I wanted to do a play of it - but then I forgot.

Either way, the 48 hour weekend is my outlet for me being an idiot. Because every other day, I'm a very articulate and well thought out person. I have medals for these things.
